This is a general packing list for a campout that takes place over Shabbat (Sabbath).
Specific campouts may require different items
Packing list (* means required) Otherwise, just recommended.
Tent or Troop provided tent*
Class A uniform shirt for Shabbat- Or other Shabbat appropriate clothing
Scout Hat* and extra hat*
Socks & Underclothes, - 4 sets* - (Recommend you pack them in sealed ziplock gallon bags.
Pants - 2 sets*
Poncho*
Medium Jacket*
Pajamas/Sleepwear*
Two pairs of shoes*. (Recommend a pair of sneakers and one pair of hiking shoes/boots –
Suggestion to those new to this - don't bring brand new hiking shoes. Old comfortable shoes even if starting to wear will serve you a whole lot better. If you plan to break in a new pair of shoes, see my note below for bringing blister cream under first aid kit) – Open Toed sandals are not appropriate for Camp Grounds.
Sleeping bag (Spring or Summer bag if you have a choice) Alternatively, blanket and sheet* (one or the other required.)
Pillow* (Required unless your sleeping bag comes with one)
If your Scout (or adult) sleeps better with a plushy, bring it along. We want everyone to sleep well
Bath towel(s)*
Small wash cloth*
In a kit or strong ziplock bag - Soap*, tooth brush*, tooth paste*, bug repellent* (30% Deet recommended, but alternatives are OK) Sun block*, deodorant, hair brush and/or comb.

Siddur, tallit, Tefillin and Kippah if you use them (I recommend an older/cheap set)

Medicines* - Any medications you take in properly labeled original containers. (This is critical)* (Please do not use Kinus as an opportunity to find out if your Scout or Cub can do without)
Small day pack to carry water and gear you want to have with you when hiking. (School back packs are ideal for this)
A game or book to keep occupied during down time
